Trust me, if I didn't know how to put a spacer on, my tires would have fell off before I ever got the chance to think about a spacer. Given a stock wheel with the recommended offset, the addition of spacers will indeed cause greater bearing wear. Both the static and dynamic loads will increase, because the moment arm associated with the contact patch normal force is larger with the spacer present. But basically, the sum of the moments about a point like the bearing center is not zero, but equal to a moment of inertia times an angular acceleration. Thus the total load on the bearing in a dynamic situation can be bigger than the static load, and then the increased moment arm can make this total load even larger. A big factor in the dynamic bearing load is the larger normal force which can act at the tire contact patch. (I am thinking of a right side wheel during a left turn, for example). Spacers will definitely change the suspension geometry. There will be an increase in the static spring deflection, for example, and this can affect the steady-state camber angle. Also, think about the wider horizontal arc traced out by the tire as you turn the steering wheel lock to lock. Make sure you have very good insurance and please for the love of god don't kill anyone because you where too cheap to get the right wheels.
did you google that? Lol. And I'm not to cheap to buy the "right wheels" it's actually like 2X more expensive this way. You had fleabay pot metal spacers cocked up in a sweat shop somewhere in China I hardly consider that the golden standard. I'm not talking about wear. I know the downfalls of offset and have dealt with the consequences as they come.

Umm actually you cant. The axle lengths are wrong. And the hubs don't fit in our spindles.

95% of the wheels for 5X135 are ugly IMO, that's why I'd run adapters. If I were to do it, I'd get BORA's and torque them at every rotation.

Imma have to disagree there. You have the Lightning wheels, Heritage/XTR wheels, Harley wheels, FX4 wheels... I've the the 18" L wheels on mine.

Oh don't get me wrong, I love most of the factory options for these trucks, but it really is hard to find nice aftermarket wheels for this pattern. If they made Ultra Predators or Ion Alloy 183's for this pattern, I'd have a set.

Ok, THAT I agree to. With as special as the pattern is, and with the age mixed in... a lot of companies don't, or won't make the wheels for them. Sucks, really. The OEM wheel select is the only redeeming factor, really.

Recently got the wrong wheel bearing at auto zone (typical) and I didn't think to look at the lugs. it was bolted on and I was trying to shove the rotor on before I realized it was a 6 lug. But I don't know about the rear axle shafts for sure

Even so 4wd wouldnt have worked. Because the newer trucks 04+ have IWE and a brass gear is acuatred in the hubs..

Buy a wheel adapter.
