Okay I did this with the front 2 passenger side and drivers side. on the passenger side there was little to no effect on the motor I mean it was barely noticable but the engine did vibrate a little harder but very very little. on the driver side the sencond one from the front i was able to tell the difference it felt like the idle dropped. Are the other two bad or going out? if they are where can I find good quality replacement with out the dealer price?

The quality is good and the price is even better. 3 years so far on the current global COPs.

Ordered a set of "new in the box, tested" COPs from CBSAutomotive (eBay) today for $100 shipped. Will buy a set of Motorcraft plugs and try replacing them myself next weekend. Other than having all the sockets, extentions, "wobbles", and overnight soaking of plugs with PB Blaster; any other suggestions? Many thanks!

Unless you have a 3 valve engine you do not need to spray the plugs.

DONE!!!!!!!!!! Just completed this job and damn proud of being able to do it alone. Bought the COPs from a vendor on eBay ($100 shipped), the plugs at O'Reilly, and a 3/8 & 1/4 ujoint at Sears, and started it Friday after work. Finished it this am (rode my Gold Wing yesterday); a little over 5 hours from start to clean-up. Had a local garage quote me $125 for labor and thought that was a mighty fair price. The more I researched it, the more I was convinced that I could do it; and by golly I did.

I have a 2001 F150 Lariat with a 5.4 v8 and have never changed the plugs. Probably have put 50m on it. Is there a site that tell the steps and tools required to change the plugs or is it best to run it to the dealer??

People have gotten pretty gunshy about plugs lately. Take your time and look at how it all goes together and you'll be fine. Here's a little write up on how to do it. Note that the torque specs on this one are the old setting that blew out plugs. New standard is 28 ft/lbs no anti seize.
