Removing Rust from Underneath
So the previous owner to my truck was a boater I guess. Needless to say, there's a bit of rust underneath. I know most of it is probably normal for being a 98. I want to try and remove it the best I can and seal it to prevent it from coming back. My original plan was to get a few wire wheels and even brushes and start at it, then clean it up and spray Rustoleum's Undercoating spray. What has everyone else done to their undercarriage?
Not a thing. You've got a 17 year old truck. Rust is normal and not hurting anything.
You can't go to a car lot and find any vehicle 5+ years old without a rusty undercarriage in states that get a lot of snow.
You could go at it with a sand blaster, sand paper, por15, primer, paint...etc but it would be a waste in my opinion. The ROI is not worth it.
