Default Remote start issues

Good day lads,

I have been trying to figure out why my remote start will not work. I have a 2001 f 150 super duty 5.4... I hit the buttons to activate remote start. It does everything up to the point of starting. After the click click I’d doesn’t do anything at all. Then it honks 2/3 times and nothing. There is no crank at all. I have tried to reset the fob with the 3 different ways. I have looked at fuses and tried a few things and still nothing. The previous owner told me that he changed the battery and it stopped working. I want to say it is factory due to the fob being ford.

What button sequence are you doing and with what buttons? 2001 did not have a factory installed option for remote start but there is a Ford remote start that can be added. There are also lots of aftermarket remote starters that utilize the factory remote. A bit more detail would be helpful.

No such thing as an F150 super duty and that truck did not come with remote start from the factory, it's probably a dealer add on accessory. Look on the fob for an FCC # and post that then we might get a better idea what you're dealing with. If the FCC # isn't outside it'll be inside by the battery either on the cover or the pc board.

I tried the key turn off and on 8 times one and another one that’s like 13 times or something like that
