Default Remote start install

Anyone ever installed a remote ignition system, and if so is it extremely difficult or an easy job?
I can turn a wrench as good as the next guy, but just wasnt sure if I wanted to attempt this since Ive never done one before.
I have a 98 F-150, 4.6, without alarm, or keyless entry, so I would be getting a kit that includes both, if I were to do it myself.
A local shop wanted $330 to do the job, but I could get a nicer system, and do it myself, for around $150.
Also for those that have done this install, which system/brand would you recommend?

yes, its not hard if you take your time.
