I have a 99 f150 lariat, and am looking to get a remote starter installed. Does it need to be a specific type/brand, or are most of them compatible with this vehicle. Also, will I need a bypass module, and if so, where does a guy find that, and what is an average cost for the module. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Viper 5901. Best remote starter and tons of add-ons. Remote works from 1.2 miles away. The bypass module you can get on amazon or eBay and its easy to install. The brain of the alarm will take up a day to install.
