Would someone let me know if there is a way to determine if my truck is remote control capable? It is a 1997 xlt could I key in the vin some ware and find out if I could buy a replacement remote? I have no idea if it ever had one.

 

Cycle key from acc to on and back to acc.6 times. If your doors lock automatically then you have remote capabilities.
