regular bed to stepside conversion

Question regular bed to stepside conversion

I have a question. I have a short bed 98' F150 xl, i would like to fit a stepside on it. what are some things i have to know besides a different bumper and tailgate, lights..

Its bolt on, plug and play, the bed shoukd have a tailgate and lights, and im sure the bumpers sre the same.

The tail light harness is going to be different, because step sides have the 2 different bulbs for red and the reverse light between them. Bumper is different, you already know that. Aside from that, it should bolt right up.

One other thing to look at will be the fuel filler neck, I've never been around a regular bed of that era, so I can't tell you if it's different or not.

Other than that, have fun, and those step side beds look much nicer! I used one as a work truck for 2 years on a farm I used to work at, loved the steps on the side for getting up in the bed
