I had my 97 in for safety today and the mechanic noticed that the tailpipe came out in front of the pass rear tire. He mentioned that he had heard of a recall for this because of the possibility of the pipe coming loose or something and therefore affecting the tire. Whether it blows a tire or whatever.
I tried searching and I couldn't locate anything that mentioned the exhaust. Has anyone ever read or heard of this???

Have '97 with the 4.6 with the exhaust in front of the rear wheel but have never heard of that recall. Have owned it since new.

 

I thought it was a weird recall but I guess anything is possible. I knew I could find the answer on here somewhere.

The lightnings are the same way, shouldn't be an issue.

 

No recall to my knowledge, but I heard alot of people would get them caught on something and bend them back into tires and such.

 

theyve been on there since 1997 and i havent heard of any just falling off. mines still good
