Rebuilt Tranny Slipping and Losing Fluid
I just rebuilt my transmission because it started slipping and lost 3rd and 4th gear so we rebuilt it and were putting it in when we noticed the torque converter was broken inside. Bought a New converter and put the tranny in and drove it around and it did fine babying it. Than whenever it would down shift hard going up a hill it would start to slip for some reason even with new clutches and steels. Than driving it home it starts smoking and breaks down and I check and all of the fluid is gone. But it was overfull right after I first drove it and noticed slight slipping with kickdown.
Would a bad pump cause this slipping and I have no idea where all the fluid went within a period of 5 minutes. I am guessing it went out the pump o rings or seals. But would a bad pump cause the slipping while downshifting/ kicking down? Also it overheated badly. That is how this transmission blew the 1st time from overheating. Clogged lines maybe?
Thanks VERY Much

trans trouble
Not sure if this may be the problem, I did the trans on my wifes grand cherokee, it had a bad concerter also, when replacing it I di not replace the seal the converter shaft slides into at the pump and it was damaged, maybe that seal is bad on yours? just a thought and hope it helps
