Default Rear shocks

Has anyone had any experience replacing rear shocks? I don't have a clue how to get to the top bolt on the shocks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's a 1997 4.2 v6 4x4 reg cab short box if that matters

A lot of patience and a long slender wrench

Lots of cussing for sure haha. I got them finally. Not easy to do alone. I got to the top bolt by going from the wheel well on the side and getting a long 3/8 Rachet on it and then laying down with a huuuuge pipe wrench, holding that tight with my knee and pushing/pulling the Rachet until I broke each one... Then more cussing! Install took literally 3 mins each side. Thanks for the help guys.

Replaced front shocks on a truck one time and I just ground the top one off.
