Rear end question

Default Rear end question

When I have rearend jacked up I have in and out play of the rear axels, do I need new wheel bearings?

Change them and pull the diff cover to make sure that the c clips that secure the axle shafts are in place. Id do it before i drove it anymore. You don't want the wheel and axle to detach from the truck.

Its normal for a C-Clip style rear axle to have slight play in and out. Its gets worse with age in a LS rearend as the clutches wear.
