I just out of curiosity I was wondering what gears my 2001 4.2 V6 2wd has?
Does anyone know or know where I should look??

 

it should be 3.55 but if you want you can look at your rear end and you will see two tags on it you should see a 3.55 on them or if you see a 3.55L it means you have limited slip as well or if you want to make sure post a pic on here and somebody will tell you exactly what you have

And don't most trucks have limited slip??

 

some do some don't just depends on the options and what the factory decided to put on the truck if it isn't custom ordered

 

Mine has 3.08s but it's 5 spd

you got the 3.55's just to make sure thou see if you can't get some of the dirt of the rest of the tag and if there is a 3. in front of the the two 5s then thats what you have

So why do I have those gears rather than the 3.08?
Sorry I'm new to all of this.

 

becuase of his being a manual and i'm guessing your is a auto but it also depends on what options the previous owner wanted and stuff like that but was there another tag on your rearend
