Default rear cat delete

I've got true dual flowmaster 40's and I'm going to be taking the rear cats off soon. I know many have done this and I wanna know how much louder it made the exhaust. I am prepared to do the gotts o2 mod in case it triggers the CEL. I love the sound I just want it to be louder. If anyone could fill me in on the sound difference I would appreciate it.

I removed them on my 97 4.6L and it made it sound so mean they are very restrictive.

i also removed them from my 97 4.6, it had a glasspack on it when i bought, so i put a y pipe and duals on it, then i took it back to have the rear cats taken off as they had several holes on them, and it made it quite a bit louder and sound better, and before that, the throttle was kinda stiff, then once that was done it softened up the pedal and i FEEL like it had better throttle response, not saying it does for sure, it just feels like it does

you have true dual as in headers into a 40 on each side? Or they Y into 2 40s?
