Or he was thinking of the front differential on the 97-03?

Read end is leaking that's why I'm replacing. I assumed I had to pull the rear diff cover off to drain it. Appreciate y'all's help will probably tackle it tonight or tomorrow afternoon after work.

If the sealant is hard to get off you can soak it in hot water and dish soap and it should come right off. That's what I had to do for my buddy.

Mine deosn't have a drain plug. I have to pull the bowl off to drain and reseal with gasket maker before refilling after re-installing it.

Sorry, I've never done it with my truck, just helped my uncle on his highboy and on brothers old Dodge. Just kinda assumed they all had drain / fill plugs.
