Ok, for the longest time now it seems, atleast one time a day when i crank, my engine makes this sometimes loud, sometimes just faint, rattling. Like something loose or jiggling around somewhere. From my very slight motor knowledge I looked around and saw nothing obvious and the exhaust is nice and tight so i don't know what it could be. Sometimes the sound stops after just a second or other times it'll stay as i start to drive. Just curious if anyone could tell me what the heck that is? Doesn't seem to be anything bad necessarily, but just kinda scares me.

When was the last time you changed the oil?? I would have someone else crank the motor so you can listen for the noise, and try to pinpoint where it is coming from... I suspect from the limited info provided that it could be the chain tensioners or one (or more) hydraulic lifters filling with oil...

The other options could be a loose starter or flywheel bolts (not too likely on this one!)...

I change the oil regularly and its been doing this for...atleast a year or more. Yea, i need to just crawl around in there everywhere and try to find it
