Default Rattleing

Lately every time my truck would down shift there is some kind of rattle in going on ok'd what it is does anybody have experience with this problem ??

That is your flux capaciter. It needs to be tightened down more. Then it will work too. BTW, if you go back to 1985 tell Stacey's mom i say hi.

I have been told it is a problem with the torque converter. My brother and my dads trucks do it and have been for a couple of years now with no worries.

Could be torque converter, or possible flex plate??? Hmmm. Tis a puzzlement.

Could be many of the above. If you have someone that can safely power brake the truck lightly. (Do not do this over 1200 rpm or for more than a few seconds at a time) Listen around the belt tensioner area. Since you are going from a lower RPM to a higher RPM abruptly. It can cause the tensioner to chatter momentarily. I would check the easy stuff before condemning the torque convertor.
