Default Ratcheting mirror

How do I fix my ratcheting o/s mirror that won't adjust? The mirror won't adjust. The motor runs but both in/out and up/down, simply ratchets and the mirror won't move. Can I access the cams from the front without breaking the glass?

Does it "pop-pop-pop," or give a "buzz-ish' sound? If popping (and the glass moves a bit), then most likely the glass is jammed up in some way. (this happens when the glass reaches its end of travel, and you keep trying to make it go further.) if it's more of a buzz, then the pins or gears (or both) are probably stripped.

And yes, you can pop the glass out by giving it a good yank. It can be a bit of a pain to get everything lined back up just so to pop it back in, though.
