Default RAP/Keyless Entry Help

I bought my f150 a few months ago and decided recently that I'd like to get the fobs working. My truck didn't come with one, but I have 5 or 6 for my 99 mustang that should work with it. I checked under the dash and it DOES have the rap module with an antenna attached. When I turn the key off and on 5 time nothing happens. Any ideas? It is a 97 4x4 XLT. Thanks!

Are you turning to run/acc or start? If run/acc, 5 times in 10 seonds, ending in run/acc. If start, 3 times in 10 seconds, end in run.

In '98 it changed to 8 times in 10 seconds for run/acc or 4 times in 10 seconds for start.

Start by locking/unlocking the doors with the ignition off, then cycle the key 8 times ending in run position. The locks should cycle, then hit a button on the fob and it should program to the truck.

Would this be correct for a 2001 F150 Supercrew?
