I hate redoing anything on the backs on these engines, AND, I don't like spending extra time replacing defective parts. JMO, of course.
I totally agree with you. I want to do it right the first time, but I also don't have much to spend on it. The truck needs some work so I'm doing alll the homework I can to find the best way to repair it. It currently is not my daily driver, but I hope to have it be come summer. So I want to take my time and make it right before I put it on the road full time.

Right, Motorcraft or Denso. The only quality spec builds to choose from currently.

Yea, - don't fall for the cheap e bay crap. Your always going to have those folks that do. They will never know how good these trucks can run...and more less brag about it lol.

But yea, those are the only two build choices we have now.

Sorry for the subject change, but where did you find your longtubes? I've been looking to put headers on mine since my drivers side is cracked but I can't seem to find any that will fit the 98.

Yea, from what I recall, the list was for 99 up. Well, it doesn't matter how they list them. The exhaust side of all V8 F150 engines from 97-03, some 04's are all the same.

Thanks for the tip! It's nice seeing another truck exactly like mine. Down here in South Florida they just don't exist. Finding parts that are unique to this truck is impossible too. I've spent a good amount of time off and on trying to find a rear driveshaft. I think I'm just going to give up and have one custom made.

mode 6 live misfire count. I get DENSO's. Rock auto claims they are an OEM supplier. I've ordered them and I do not doubt Rock Autos claim. The loke Identical to OEM motor craft. I've had them on my truck for 2 years no problems
