Default Rancho RS5000 Clunk

I tried to search but could not find much on this on Google, and didn't find anything on here. If someone has a previous thread, please kindly direct me to it.

I put Rancho RS5000 shocks on my 2002 SuperCrew 4x4 about a month ago. I have since noticed some clunking sounds when going over bumps. There was no sound with the old shocks. Could be the shock bolts not being tight enough, though I have tightened them as much as I can. Wasn't able to use a torque wrench so I can't say how many ft-lbs it is tightened to. Sound comes from primarily the front passenger, but can hear it on the front driver side as well. Not sure if rear shocks make the same noise.

The truck is stock height though I did a 2" torsion crank in the front to level it out. I was told that stock height shocks should be fine in this situation.

Has anyone else had this problem? I have read where many other people have tightened the shock bolts to specifications but still hear the clunk. Just want to make sure safety is not going to become a concern since I eventually plan on taking the rig on some easy-to-moderate off road trails.

Thanks

I've heard that the rubber bushing that those come with tends to rot away quickly, causing a clunking noise. They market a bushing made of different material as a replacement part.

bushings will not rot in 30 days...maybe 3 years...the shocks are still loose...
