Default Raised back seat?

I've seen some threads on here talking about buying a kit to raise the back seat. Those kits are more than I want to spend. I want to know how to raise my seat without buying the kit and still keeping the seat as strong as it was before. Thanks for the help.

I've heard of people using wooden blocks. I went with a 4" LMI welding rear seat lift. I admit I overpaid for the lift, but I do have the piece of mind that it's sturdy and my backseat isn't going to break off or anything like that hahaha.

The reason I needed to raise the seat was to put subs under there. But I her found a way around that. I'm just getting shallow subs and a custom box!

Where are you getting your custom box from?

Well I had one (not custom) sitting in my back seat but it wouldn't fit under the seat of course so I'm having to cut it down myself and do it myself.

Take a look at the box I was able to fit under my backseat in my pictures. I'll try to post some more pictures of it, but it's pretty massive. You can't go wrong with a seat lift. More room = bigger box = much more bass. I have one 10" and it hits harder than two 12's.... someone once told me, the box compliments the subs, not the other way around. I am a firm believer in that when I had this box made.

i avoided the seat lift in my 98 Flareside an custom fabd my own subwoofer box for my two 12s & mounted my subs under my front seats. the box raised my seat 1inch an i can still expose my subs bc i reused the hinges an the latch for when people sit in the back. Looks really good.
