Default Radiator Question

Hello!

I have a 2001 V6 4.2L and was wondering if the radiator could be replaced with one from a V8 5.4L?

Thanks in advance!

"They carry different part numbers so by the book NO. That said, they look similar in design, and the 5.4 will fit into the same spot (same core supports), so with some hose changes, possibly it will work. You will have to judge where the input and output goes and see if they are teh same as your 4.2 one. Best I can tell you. The interchange doesn't show working without modifications.

If you were buying new, I'd say ..why?

And if you were getting a used one from the scrap yard, I'd say... don't.
