Default racing chip

i have a 4.2 V6 and i want to know if anyone has found any chips for them

Not knowing your year, I chose 1999 for a base.

If you are going with a chip, then JET makes one for the 4.2. They make one for each automatic #89918 and std transmission #89904. They are not cheap, but I've seen them on Craiglist a couple times here. Good luck

Don't waste you time with "chips" like the Jet. Get a custom tuned programmer SCT x3 from VMP or Troyer.

Otto I agree with you 100%. I just gave the OP the numbers and a name. I was hoping that my opening about IF you are going with a chip, hoping that it would sort of question the choice. I believe in the tuners with Fords. I don't personally like the chips. They can't be programmed and they are cost prohibitive when it comes to functionality. A good brand tuner is the only way to go. Besides if you have a CAI and haven't tuned your vehicle, you'll see a difference in the feel and the shift. I certainly did. Not a mpg improvement (nor a loss) but definitely a power increase with the 4.6.
