Default Quick question...

This may or may not be a dumb question but here it goes... I recently got a lift In my truck and I also upgraded to 35" tires. Now I know that my speedometer is off and also my odometer. Is this something I could just bring my truck to a shop and they will reprogram my truck so everything is back to normal? Or is there more to it?
Thanks

You should be able to from what I've read or you could get a tuner and change it yourself when I had my 97 I put 31s on it and then used my gps to figure out the speedo difference the odometer didn't bother me any since it was a old high millage truck

Yeah you can do that. It's called recalibrating the speedo. U can even do it with some programmers

To my knowledge the 97-98's can't be re-programed they use a speedo gear.

I don't believe you can change the tire size or gear ratio with a tuner on the 97 and 98 trucks because of the mechanical odometer. you need to change the speedo gear to get it to read correct.

That's correct I had to change the gear on mine to get it to read right.. I was off about 15 mph. This is where I got mine from .

Under the speedometer world there is a subcategory that says ford only. Click on it.
