Default PS Reservoir Cap

Lost the power steering reservoir cap. Went to Dealer and bought a new one. Cap has threads to screw onto container. Container is smooth inside neck, has 2 notches like a small radiator cap to go over, 90 degree turn to tighten. Wrong cap.

No used around, when the engine is pulled, ps goes with it.

1999 F150, V6 reservoir is bolted above A/C compressor.

RockAuto shows what I have-wrong one. Ford parts says fits 97-07?

Any ideas?
Thanks, Les

I have one off a 03 5.4L, if you think it will fit, just pay for the ride and it's yours!

At work right now, I can post a pic to see if it will work for you tomorrow. Also have the complete reservoir if the hoses are the same, you could swap out the entire thing.

Thanks for the photo Wayne.

SOLVED: Got the right cap. Still in package, feeling thru the bag the "o" ring felt like threads. The picture of the bottom of the cap shows the "ears" that engage the "radiator shaped top". Opened bag= correct part. Sorry to take up your time, and thanks for your help.

Sigh.......Getting old can be embarrassing.
