Default Project Ford

This is my first post.My daughter and I are starting a project that is rather close to me. I have a 1998 F-250LD that belonged to my late father. It has only 62k and "WAS" in mint condition.Approx.2 years ago it was involved in a wreck were it rolled 1.5 times. The body is trashed but I had hoped the running gear was ok. I have since found that 3 of the 4 axles are bent. I have purchased a 1997 F150 with a bad motor. This truck has 170k on it but looks to be in good condition.I originally wanted to just swap bodies but now I dont think thats the best approach. I can find some info on similarities between the two but have some questions.First, can I swap the front and rear diffs without to much problem. And second, if anyone has some suggestions on what things I need to consider.Any help would be greatly appriciated. I want to make this a fun project for my daughter and I.Im sure Ill have more posts in the near future.

Start with the better of the two frames and go to town. The front axles are all the same, The rear will swap in fairly easily. How deep do you want to get into this project? Are you just going to piece together a mint condition truck or are upgrades planned?

Will the rear diff be a bolt in? Brakes, drive line, speed sensor, shock mounts? Do you know if the frames are the same? I think a 4.5' lift and maybe some 35's will be about it for now. It wont be a show truck but lots of fun. Thanks for your reply.
