is a programmer worth it?

is getting a programmer for my 2001 4.6 worth it are there any noticeable differences and if so whats a good one to buy.

SCT's come with canned tunes, though you can get custom tunes. [MENTION=99933]Franchi Motorsports[/MENTION] can give you an idea on what improvements the canned tunes will do for you.

Definitely worth it. I have Edge Evo on my '04 4.6 liter and it made a nice difference for power. A little improvement in MPG.

I just installed my SCT Livewire and there has definitely been a difference. I have 295/70/17 trail graps on it now and before the tuner you could definitely feel the tires making it sluggish off the line. Definitely has brought a ton of life back to the truck even with these bigger tires on. I cant believe I didnt buy one sooner.
