I don't know anything about programmer's what so ever is there a thread all about them?
If not then what do they do exactly, how do they work and what kind should I buy because I noticed Edge has one for $600 and one for $40, whats the difference?

The primary difference is the Tuning of the ECM programming and how many different "tunes" and what other features other than just programming are included, I.E., Real time monitoring and possible OBD2 scanning and troubleshooting features that are included. Most have built in scanning for "mil" codes but some kick that up a notch and have manufactures' coding built in as well. Also don't forget warranty and guarantees.
