I have a 2000 xlt and I lose mad power up hills. Would a programmer help run more smoothly. Or even just be worth getting in general.

It will definitely help with power, so yes it's worth getting. Look into the Edge products or if you have power modifications already look into Gryphon by Powerhungryperformance. They can do custom tunes to get the most out of your trucks and modifications.
