Default In process of installing a body lift

Started yesterday, with the bed first. Really wasn't dedicated to it at first, my girlfriend was over so I did some work then is stop and hangout with and go back an fourth between that. Lifted the body today and holy ****. What a b!tch it was. Cut 2 bolts up front with a bandsaw, fought with the ones by the front doors with a pipe wrench because the body mounts were spinning. Oh lord...it was a pain, so far got the be an body lifted, back bumper is on, front bumper needs to be done, fan shroud needs to be dropped, everything needs to be hooked back up including the fuel filler neck which is also lots of fun...and 4x4 shifter needs to be cut to have the extension welded on. All in all though, besides everything that's been touch being horribly hard and stubborn, it looks good.

body lifts are fun lol.

you have an 03 with a 4x4 shift lever? I thought those were in the earlier trucks you should have the shift on the fly switch for the 4x.

I'm very interested in these since they are so much cheaper, how much taller does it make the truck look? Big difference or little? Could the average Joe install one of these?

It's a TRUE 3 inches. It definitely throws it up as high as that no doubt, and you can mimic a 5-6" lift if u crank your torsion bars or use spring spacers.
And too be honest, you look like you live up north. I live in the south, but my trucks from up north, there's a good bit of rust in places you'd never imagine. Now my dads pretty good with his **** and I'm following his footsteps sort of, me a him together had a hell of a time doin this. He said its the worst body lift he's ever done. And it's no fun...but mostly because of all the rust from all the salt from up north durin the winter. My advice, get a good well knowledged buddy with tools to do ANYTHING. Hell we broke out a damn Bansaw to chop bolts off there were froze up an broken. For the price, you'll be please with the outcome most definitely. Just don't do it alone, an shops cost way too much to install them.

Haha thanks . Well I might have one question...
About the shifter cable bracket, should it be used? I seen somewhere that it causes problems. And my cable needs I be adjusted or tightend anyway, my reverse lights come on in neautral, and I have to pull on my shifter sometimes when I go to start y truck cuz it's not ALL the way in park and won't start unless it is..u follow me?
