Default Pretty violent shaking

So my 04 F150 put me down the other day, so while she's getting fixed i'm riding ole red. Been trying to sell her for almost a year, so it's been setting up a long time. On the ride in today, it started shaking pretty violently while I was either going up a hill or trying to accelerate past 40. It only did it periodically, stopping and starting every couple minutes. I also noticed the engine was making a weird sound. Very hard to describe, but it was basically like the normal engine noise had a little doppler effect going on lol. It would get louder, then quieter, then louder, then quieter. And everytime it got louder the truck would either shake or try to jump forward and accelerate. Preciate any help or advice and glad to be back to the 97-03 forum!

Had my wife to drive a new Chevy before we traded in her 04 FX4 and got a deal on the 14 xlt 5.0 4x4.
She didn't like how the sear, pedal combination was.
And she had problems seeing out of the Chevy truck.
Didn't like how it rode either.

We drove a 2015 but ford was stuck on the price & didn't deal good enough.
The 2015 F150 XLT we drove with the 5.0 was a beautiful truck & drove really, really good.

Seems the government is pushing for them to sell more of the smaller 6 cylinder motors too.
Seems it yer truck don't get 39 mpg, you can't drive it.
I'm sorry but it's a truck. I want a v8.
When I can't get a V8 I will drive my Kia Soul with a 10 yr 100,000 warranty.
