So on my 03 when I hit the unlock on my key fob it goes up partway but not all the way. I end up having to press the damn thing about 3 times before she will go up all the way, same case when I use the unlock in the truck. I am just wondering what part inside the door I will need to replace to fix this. Really did not want to have to take the panel off, they never go back on tight and end up making all kinds of rattling noises.

 

The panels on these trucks go back on just as tight, I've had mine off probably 5 times. They only use 2 screws and the panels pulls straight up to come off. Very easy. As for your locks you will need new actuators. I had a buddy of mine that works at audio express install them for me. If you feel comfortable messing with electrical connections and doing a little trimming on the door panels then you should be able to knock it out pretty cheap. The stealership will charge you an arm and a leg, luckily my buddy owed me a favor and it didn't cost me a dime.

 

That makes feel a lot better hearing they come off easily. On my old chevy there were probably 8 cheap plastic pins holding them on and they never seal back up properly. I will have to order one and take care of it before the weather gets into the negatives. Ill try ebay or online before the stealer. Thanks for the help.

 

Just make sure you pull UP and not out like on your old Chevy. There are big plastic hooks, on the interior door panel, that sit into anchors that secure the bottom down. If you yank them or pull out you can certainly break them off. Otherwise, they are as quiet as the new trucks when replaced. They came up with a very good anchoring system if you ask me.

The actuators are fairly easy to switch out and actually don't cost that much. After you do the first one the second goes very fast. Good luck with your changeout.

cdiesel, go for it. That is as cheap as you will find them and they will probably outlast your ownership of your truck. I'd go for that price.

Something else I have noticed lately, when I am driving my extended cab door on the drivers side rattles quite a bit and it gets annoying. When my drivers side door is open and the extended cab door is shut you can grab it and wiggle it and I hear the exact noise I hear when driving because it is not secure. Is it supposed to have play in it or is there something I can tighten to cure this issue?
