Default Power Steering Pump Change

could anyone give me any tips on changing my power steering pump. i will be starting the project after work today and could use some pointers, advice, or heads up. any help would be greatly appreciated

I take it your has gone out? First thing I would do is drain all the fluid to avoid the big mess. There are a few good vids on youtube on how to do remove a PS pump.

I recently changed mine. Just be patient, 'everything' on these trucks are difficult to change. Ford likes to bury all the parts underneath a lot of other stuff or make the bolts difficult to access (eg. spark plugs, oil filter, IAC etc.). Why? I don't know, maybe they are masochists.

My pump seems to be making some whining noise but only when it's really cold and only when I'm driving. Heck I'm not even sure it's the pump but it's what I'm suspecting right now.
I hope that's all it is.........

I hope that's all it is.........
turn it to the lock and drive. if it skips or hops then its bad. or so ive heard ( mine does it too! )

yeah mine has gone completely bad, im hoping i can at least get the old one off tonight and the new one on tomorrow

You will have a pain putting on the teflon seal on the pressure line. Heat some water up in the microwave and put it in the water. With it warm it will expend just enough to get it slide on.
