Power Mirror Puzzle
Good evening,
Okay, so the 2000 F-150 with (now only) 46,000 miles on it, has developed an odd symptom.
The power mirrors. Set the control to the left mirror, and toggle the joystick to go "up". Mirror turns mostly inward, and somewhat down. Toggle the joystick to move the mirror "out". Moves down. Toggle the joystick to turn the mirror inward. Moves inward and down. Toggle it to turn it down? Mostly down, some inward.
Right mirror is no better.
Are there common causes and cures for this malady? Do I need to have the truck excorcised?
Depending on the nature of the problem and fix, I can foresee upgrading to a set of Lariat type, turnsignal/mirror assemblies, while I've got the wrenches out.
What sayeth the horde?
