Power Locks and Windows
And you're wrong. The numbers on a DMM can and often do change almost constantly when working in dynamic conditions like a running vehicle or other active circuits, and a momentary significant change like a 250ms drop of 2 volts on a 12 volt circuit) would be obvious with the twitch of an analog meter may become "lost" in the noise when using a DMM, no matter what its quality The exact thing that makes a DMM so accurate is what makes it unsuitable (or at least not optimal) for some tasks.
In this case, I'd be interested to hear what meters Rango likes, for "daily use." Maybe I can learn something new. May or may not use that knowledge, tomorrow or next week, but who knows if it will fit a need in my future?!? I've never dropped a meter, but I wanted that "option."
Anyway I want to be exposed to everyones' opinions on tools, methodology, etc. You never know what you are missing if you don't consider it. My Mileage Will Vary, from own, someday, when some usual way I do things hits a wall. That is MY preference. My version of me keeping an open mind. Klein DVMs are not nirvana. But they are at Home Depot, handy, reasonable.
If I didn't want a bright color to find easier in failing light, 6 ft drop resistance, thermo probes, water/coffee/beer, rain resistance, then Home Depot also sells a cheaper green type that is fine for folks who don't use DVM as often as some of us do. (I'm kind of sad my Klein, a once very venerable name in tools, is now Made in China.)
Well meant words in my unskilled hands came out poorly. I'm the worst guy with words, but let's keep communication flowing, and flowing nicely. But flowing. My Model-Specific DVM knowledge, industry/brand wide, is scant. Fluke is famous. They wouldn't hire me after the service so I stuck with gov't classified electronics R&D.
What DVMs Rango & others like is of some interest. My Klein is ~ $100. Way more than needed. Some many better DVMs yet "not high end" even graph, which can be used like a moving needle.
