Reflections and glare isn't the issue with focused or higher mounting of quality light bars, it's the whitewashing. Similar to how it feels when you turn on your interior lights at night and try to look down the road.

If it is extremely noticeable or bothersome, some overlanders use a matte finish paint their hood to help.

The higher the the light and more focused the beam, the less problems you'll have.

Lightbar
Pod Lights
Wiring Harness

Only purchased these because the bars were cheep. Owned them now for 6 Months (was delivered on 19 August 2016 and taken off the truck on 8 Jan 2017 because the rack broke) and they seam to work fine along as the power stays on. The 42" bar will flicker in some of the sections when voltage starts to drop below 10V so I do not recommend them if you are putting them in an application that will be used daily and depend on them. That being said they have always worked for me (even a little condensation inside the lens didn't kill it) and I enjoyed em while the rack lasted.
