Default possessed wipers?

Hi everyone.

So, I have this annoying problem that I cannot seem to figure out. I have a 97 F150 4.6 AT and my wipers' operation can only be described as possessed. Sometimes everything is working exactly as it should. Other times, without any warning, the intermittent mode just stops working.

The Lo and Hi works fine, but all of the intermittent levels are dead. Then, just as randomly, it will come back on and work for a while. I did notice that when it's not functioning, putting truck in N or P will get it to work again until you put it back into Drive.

I replaced the switch, but the problem persist. I tried to get advice from a couple of dealers, but they pretty much refused to give it without doing full diagnistic.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
--genna

The reason I asked was because my window wipers used to only go one speed when I'd turn them on, and it would trigger my alarm for no reason...I just thought your problem might've been related to mine.
