Default Poll: Transfer case fluid

1999 f150 58k

Getting ready to change the transfer case fluid and I was wondering what you personally use? I prefer synthetic and Mobil 1 but I wanted to poll the masses first.

Do not use Mercon V in it. Use Mercon III.

Why not XL-12. Ford transfer case fluid. Just bought 3 quarts from my local ford dealer today. 7.37 per quart.

Well.... Crap! My xfer case input seal was (is, maybe, but the trans level is still fine after 7K miles?) allowing trans fluid into the transfer case, so it was over-full with Mercon V. Guess I need to do something about that.
