Default plugs?

is the 01 5.4 the motor thats known for braking plugs off in the head?

No. Its tbe 3 valve 5.4 (2004) don't be afraid to change plugs. Its simple.

It's easy, just torque them correctly to avoid spitting them out of the heads. Use Motorcraft plugs and don't use anti seize, you'll be fine.

No anti seize?? Uh oh. I did mine with anti seize and I did them to factory recommended torque. Was like 90 inch pounds or something. (Its a 97 4.2)

I should probably go torque em down a little more right?

You've got a 4.2, different heads than the V8's. As long as you have them quarter turn past seat in a V6 you're good to go, no blowout issues in the 4.2L.
