Default Plug Threads

So I had the problem a while back where the spark plug threads get worn off and the plug shoots out. My question is when they fix the problem how do they do it? I am about to change my plugs and coils and wonder if there is something different from normal that I will have to take into account with that plug when I change it? And is there a way to tell which one it was? Because I have no idea which one it was.

You will be able to look down and see the insert that was used to repair. It's not that the threads get worn down, it's lack of torque that causes them to back out. 28 ft/lbs dry is the best way for them all.

Thanks for that write up. It helped a lot got all my plugs and coils done today. It sure took a while but with some combinations of extensions it wasn't to bad except for the last 2 on the drivers side. They are right under that fuel rail.

Yea mine had one of them blown but I had it repaired with the kit at a shop. And when I was taking out the old plug today it was not the standard 5/8 it was a little smaller I forget exactly what size. And the boot on the coil is shorter on that hole because the plug sits further up in the hole. So luckily the auto parts shop at the end of my street had the repair kit. So I put the shorter boot on the new coil. And used the spark plug that came in the kit because it is a different plug. And when I took out the old plug the insert used to fix it came out to. So the kit I bought also had the insert so I put that new one in there before I did the spark plug. I got the kit for 45 and I think they are usually a lot more than that.
