Just replaced the lines on mine last week. I didn't have any problems removing the bolt that holds the manifold to the compressor with a socket and long extension through the fenderwell behind the tire..

Mine's a 5.4, don't know what you have.

Mines the 4.6 I removed the bolts that hooks the compressor to the engine so I could get to the manifold nut easier. I believe its 10mm but my 12 point socket is shipping on it so I need to find a 6. I'm going to replace my lines that go to the compressor too because mine are rusted badly right where they meet the compressor. How much did they cost you and where did you get them?

I got new lines and a new accumulator at Advanceauto for about $140 total. Use the discount code VISA for $50 off of a $150 order if you order it online for in store pick up.It's nice as you can see which local stores have the parts in stock. I think the code is good until 8/20.

That's where my line rusted and blew a hole in it. Have fun fishing the old hose out, and even more fun fishing the new one back in. It's a PITA!!! LOL
