Please help!!!
I have a 1997 F150 2wd 4.2 manual transmission. This truck has been a huge pain in my butt since the day I bought because the previous owner did not take care of it, I have almost completely restored the truck. The reason I am posting is simply complicated... Over the weekend I replaced the flywheel, simple enough, but when I buttoned everything back up I went to start my truck and it's not getting fuel. I've worked on a lot of vehicles so the first thing I do is have my wife turn the key so I can listen for the fuel pump... Nothing, so I started with the fuel pump shut off, it was fine, so I moved to the fuse and relay, again they are fine, I then went to the store and picked up a electrical tester (not sure what its actually called) and I unhooked my fuel pump in front of the tank and used the tester to check the wires, I was getting about 9-10 volts... At that point in my head I have ruled out any other problem so I return to the store and purchase a fuel pump, I brought it home and before dropping the tank and all of that I plug the fuel pump in while it's still in the box and I turned the key on... NOTHING!!!! I am absolutely stumped at this point, I have no idea what the problem could be. I am ready to push my truck off a cliff, someone please pull my head out of my *** for me
Could you have pinched a line somewhere along the body from the Trans? Also maybe a wire got pinched? 9-10volts may not be enough to run the pump- you should have battery voltage at the pump. Somewhere around 12 volts, and yes 2 volts makes a difference.
Unrelated to fuel pump what about the clutch switch? If your multimeter has a continuity function you can check the switch to see if it is working. Should be in a bracket at the top of the clutch pedal.

I have thought about having pinched a wire, and I couldn't see any that would have been in the way but I traced the fuel pump wire anyway and to the naked eye I didn't see anything, someone else suggested a faulty ground, but again I couldn't find anything. I have not taken one of my vehicles to a shop in over 5 years cuz I refuse to pay someone to do something I can do for free... But I feel like I'm out of options
Ended up being a loose ground on the back of the block that was shorting out a fuse, I had to take it to someone, I can rebuild a motor ground up but I can't do anything with electrical. I would have never figured that out. Thanks for the help y'all!
