I couldn't get my pitman arm off my gearbox for nothing. soaked it, cranked the puller w/ my impact, got out a breaker bar, pulled so hard i was in fear of breaking my tool. beat on it w/ a BFH some more. Finally i went up the road to a local mechanic for some Q and A, he said he sometimes uses an air hammer on them while under tension from the puller, the vibration helps pull it loose.

Came back home, air hammered and cussed for a few minutes, then one more whack w/ the BFH and it came off! I think the vibration did some good.
