Default PCM and tranny problem resolved

OK ive been reading post that contain truck just died just cranks m od light flashing , transmission wont shift out of second. Well I had all these problem last week it started with driving home and my truck died it wouldn't start , towed it home thought it was the coil pack , then i replaced cam sensor and crank sensor, come to find out my PCM fuse #24 under the hood was blown, and it kept blown every time i turned the the key on , so i assumed i had a dead ground some where and started moving wires around and the fuse no longer blew and the truck started right up , then started to experience transmission problems OD light flashing and my trans wouldn't shift out of second , so put a reader on it and it came up p0755 shift solenoid so replaced that , it worked fine for a couple of days before the OD light started flashing again and same issue so went to ford picked up another shift solenoid installed it and still same problem , so started to look for electrical problem so sure enough the harness coming from the PCM to transmission was burnt there was a red power bare wire exposed , a purple and black that burnt all the way through and few others that were exposed I would not of found this if I didn't take the harness out and inspect it , so I soldered up the wires replaced the loom , reinstalled wala problem fixed truck runs like a champ, If i would have started to research the electrical problem I probably wouldn't have dumped 300 in unnecessary parts.Sorry such a long post just wanted to describe the issues.

I hope this will help some of you , dont take it to a garage they will charge a arm and leg to trace electrical problems , or try to sell you a transmission rebuild

Much simular thing happened to me i thought it was my head gasket at first then i hooked up my code scanner and it pulled up P0755. In your case it was short circuting and blowing the fuse due to your wiring harness, i havnt pulled my transmission of to check my valve body yet but my brother short circuted the radio and i dont think it could have got to my seloniod b but its a possibility still when you do this operation, No.1 flush transmission fluid. No.2 look for foregien matter in fluid. No.3 check wiring harness and connectors for exposer, loose signal and corrosion. No.4 my recommendation would be to replace both a and b shift soleniods. If you need instructions on doing anything pertaining to this particular problem please contact me, ill be doing a video on this very soon.

I am having the same issues. I am going to try this solution and get back with you all. I have already replaced the solenoids (all three on my 01') I didn't think about the PCM connections or the fuses.

Okay so i got everything resolved a few months ago while it may not pertain to most of you i
simply just needed a new fuse under the hood. On my old truck there was a place set off for extra fuses but that wasnt the case here it actually went to my transmission and not realizing it, i thought it was going out but it ended up just being a fuse. I have a fuse decoder if anyone needs help finding it just message me. Good luck guys.
