Default PATS Problem?

I have a 2001 F-150 Lariat Crew Cab. Today, I ran an errand and when I came out of the store, the truck would not start. The key turned and the starter engaged in a normal manner, but the engine did not start.

When I turn the key to the on position, the "theft" light times out and goes off like normal after 3 sec. However when I turn the key to start it, the theft light comes back solid while the starter is engaged. Is this a PATS issue or is there something else going on?

I don't know much about the PATS but I would check all fuses especially the ones under the hood. Also if you can get a hold of a code reader then it might be able to tell you

Update... It started after I gave it a little while. Totally normal... I got it home and decided to try it again after an hour.. Problem happened again... I moved the column around and hit it a couple times. Still happened. I then removed the keys from the ignition and attempted to start another 2-3 times with no luck and then on the 4th Once again started completely normal.

Try a different key otherwise it may be a fuel pump
