Default Parking brake cable problems

I have a 98 4X4 with a frozen parking brake cable. I am having problems getting the connection from the front cable to the rear cable to release. Any suggestions.

Thanks,

They are a pain. There's a tab that pops up to hold the cable in and it's a hard job to remove it. I've used vice grips to hold the cable and worked at it. It helps if you can get someone to hold parts while you work the others.

Thanks, the vise grips and an assistant did the trick.

Glad to hear. They definitely are tough.
