Default Paint issues

I'm sure I'm probably late to the ball on this one, but does anyone have a clue why the paint is falling off the hood on my '03 Heritage? This has been going on for 2 or 3 years now, and the service writers at my dealership just keep giving me a dumb look when I bring it up.

Could be the clear coat coming off. Now I'm no expert so it was just a suggestion

Huh.... Mine is a 99, and, aside from the grille/headlight surround, the paint looks great (minus a few scratches of course). And the grille surround is my doing lol, it looked fine a few months ago when I bought the truck. Really the only major eye sore on mine is the fogged up headlights, which is just common for anything with composite headlights... Seriously considering modifying my front clip to take old fashioned sealed beam lights... Glass doesn't get cloudy

Sounds like the hood wasnt prepared right when it was painted, like there was a residue on the metal before painting. Or the truck came into contact with a substance that dissolved the paint. Are there any strange blemishes on the paint around the spot? Do you have a pic of it? I've never seen one do that before. Thats weird that its aluminum. I know my 99 is steel, and the 03 my sister has is deffinetly steel as its rusting on the front tip. Although your prob right about the aluminum hood, because ford did that to the vic's for a year or two in the mid 90's. Didn't know that until a month ago.

By chance, has the hood been repainted?

Is yours right at the front of the hood? Mine started bubbling right on the front of it and I have seen many others that have done the same thing. This is the best picture i have of it right now.
