Default P0171 & P0174

Yes I know this has been covered 10001 times so I'll appologize in advance.
I really dont know much about engines but if I have instructions I can pretty much do it.

The CEL is on and throwing codes P0171 and P0174.
I have already removed the MAF Sensor and cleaned it. Reset the CEL. It came back on about 100 miles later.

Next I need to inspect the rubber PCV elbow joints but here is where the problem is. I can't find them.

I have a 2002 Ford F150 Sport. If someone can post pictures of where exactly the rubber elbows are located that would be greatly appreciated. I looked at other threads and couldnt find any.

Thanks in advance.

Nope. I cleaned the MAF, inspected the vacuum hoses for cracks, and exchanged the fuel filter (yes i know long shot but someone said it worked for them).

Only thing left is a faulty MAF which I havent measured yet but my truck is not idling rough so I doubt it is that. Most likely it is a leaky head gasket which I cant fix myself.

After cleaning the MAF the CEL was off for 100 miles, after putting in a new fuel filter the CEL was off for 250 miles but now it is back. Luckily I got my inspection inside those 250 miles so I'm holding off on fixing it for now.

Good luck, these codes are a pain in the ***.

Default Damn P0171

yes , I agree . I actually posted some pictures of the PCV valve standing loose, let me know if it was in same condition with yours.

but about the PCV elbow I could not find either. the other side of the pcv valve line goes behind the throttle (no elbow) and it has no leak on mine . but I still get the error p0171 .
by the way how is your engine running . mine is hesitating and stumbling , no power ...
check this post for "intake plenum" :

let me know what you got . Good luck.

I actually heard a lot of people getting these codes that their PCV hose was just sitting ontop like yours was in the pictures. Simply plugging it back in fixed their problem.

Mine was alread plugged in and had a good seal on it so that wasnt the case. However removing it will cause the engine to run really rough then finally die, that was in my case.

I didnt see an "elbow" either like other people had described but I am sure it was what people were talking about.

My engine does not hesitate or stumble, when I hit the gas it gives me what I want. Which makes me think its the leaky gasket I was talking about earlier.
