Default P0171 and p0174

IM throwing both codes and I've replaced the normal elbows and vacuum lines that looked bad and still throwing these codes I've also hit every vacuum line I could see with carb cleaner to find a leak and nothing. Has a new mass air flow sensor and pcv valve. What else can I try

Check your intake gaskets for leaks.

Yes, that method will work fine. Another method is to do a mixture of dawn and water, just enough dawn to make bubbles. Then spray that around and see if you see it bubbling and sucking it.

What motor? If it's a 4.2 I'd bet it's your intake manifold gasket. Even if your truck isn't a 4.2, it could be the intake.

Carb cleaner trick doesn't always work

You need to replace every vacuum line you with carb cleaner. That's the number one thing NOT to do when troubleshooting these codes or ever. Carb cleaner melts plastic and rubber. It slime's the connections as it melts them. It melts the stems on solenoids beyond repair. Carb cleaner is for carburetors.Your codes will never go away as you are compounding the problem creating even more leaks in the system.

You should have searched. For over a decade, these have been the most common DTC's for this generation.

Good point guys. Guess I never got what year it is. If it's a plastic intake'd truck, I agree that carb cleaner probably isn't a good idea. Besides the dish soap and water idea, the other method you can use is to smoke the intake. The smoke will find its way out the leak. An actual fogger/smoker is pretty expensive. I am going to actually build one with a fog machine. I have heard of some guys pulling a vacuum hose and blowing cigar smoke in the intake.

Doesn't matter, rubber boots/elbows, PVC and plastic ports on the sensors.

I just use a propane bottle for leak test and seal boots w/MEK. MEK shrinks them around the fitting for air tight seal.
